Griha Pravesh is the set of Poojas and rituals that are performed before one starts to live in a new house. It is the process of cleansing the new house with Vedic mantras and make it peaceful to live happily.

IMPORTANCE OF GRIHA PARVESH PUJA

Griha Pravesh Puja is performed before shifting to a new house to drive away the ill-effects, doshas and increases the flow of positive energy in the house. Performing Griha Pravesh also bestows the dwellers of the home with peace and prosperity and in turn protects the home from any natural calamities.

Griha Pravesh must be performed on the following occasions –

On the purchase of a new home.

After renovating an old home.

Before moving into a Rented home.

Griha pravesh is performed by doing dwar puja, boiling milk, Gauri-ganesh, kalash, navgraha, vastu puja and different havans like ganesh havan, navagrah, vastu, varun havan is performed.

DESCRIPTION

The building construction and the Vaastu have existed parallel since the Vedic period. The Matsya Purana has a solid explanation of this. The Griha Pravesh Puja is the most vital part related to the Vaastu Shastra. The Puja has a supreme significance in the Hindu culture. Hindus arrange the Griha Pravesh Puja before starting residing inside any building or starting a business in the building. The Puja is organized to spread the positive vibes all around eliminating the evil energies and save the property from jealousy and evil intentions of the people.

The basic arrangement before the Puja includes the washing and embellishing of the house of office using Mango leaves, flowers, Banana stems, Rangoli and more stuff. Vaastu Devata is worshiped on this occasion. The home or office owners place a pot filled with water and grains of nine different types. A coin is placed on the top along with the mango leaves and a coconut tied with a red cloth. The whole family or the business partners and the associates witness the rituals. Homa is performed to ask for the forgiveness to dig the mother earth, breaking the stones and cutting the trees to construct the building. After the accomplishment of the Puja, the Pandits are fed with sweet and other scrumptious vegetarian food prepared inside the home. The owners spend a whole night inside the building/house/office before gearing up to reside their completely.
